Saratoga Investment’s portfolio remains strong, with 86.2% of the portfolio in first liens, and a continued high level of investment quality in loan investments, with 97.1% of its loans this quarter at its highest internal rating. Net investment income yield as a percentage of average net asset value (“Net Investment Income Yield”) was 15.7% for the quarter ended November 30, 2023. Adjusted for the incentive fee accrual related to net capital gains, the Net Investment Income Yield was 14.6%. In comparison, adjusted Net Investment Income Yield was 10.8% and 15.0% for the quarters ended November 30, 2022 and August 31, 2023, respectively.
Return on equity for the last twelve months ended November 30, 2023 was 6.6%, down from 9.6% last quarter and up from 4.0% for the comparable period last year.
